The Louisiana governor elect, Bobby Jindal, has named Mike Voisin of Motivatit Seafoods as Vice Chair, and Jack Lawton, a prominant conservationist and sportsmans advoctate as chair, of his Fisheries and Wildlife Transition committee. The committee will advise on position to be appointed by Jindal, such as the new head of Lousiana's fish and wildlife deparment.
Wildlife and Fisheries Transition Advisory Council Vice Chair: Mike Voisin of Houma is the owner and general manager of Motivatit Seafoods, Inc., an oyster farming, seafood harvesting, processing, and distribution company. Voisin was previously the owner and general manager of Captain Salty's Seafood, Inc., a seafood distribution company in Vernon California, and the owner and co-manager of Innovatit Seafood Systems, L.L.C. He is a member and former chairman of the board of the Louisiana Oyster Dealers & Growers. He also previously served as chairman of the Louisiana Seafood Marketing and Promotion Board from 1983 to 1996, and was a member of the U.S. Department of Commerce's National Fish and Seafood Promotion Council.
Wildlife and Fisheries Transition Advisory Council Chair: Jack Lawton, Jr. of Lake Charles is president and chief executive officer of Jack Lawton Companies, LLC. and is a former board member of the Calcasieu Marine National Bank. Lawton is a member or former office holder in numerous conservation organizations, including the Coastal Conservation Association of Louisiana, the Center for Coastal Conservation and the Delta Waterfowl. He is also a founding member of the Gulf Coast Conservation Association of Louisiana - the predecessor to CCA Louisiana. Lawton is also a former LSU football player under Coach Charlie McClendon, and currently serves as a board member of the Charlie McClendon Foundation which funds scholarships for the children of former football players.
